After School Club - Play Worker / Leader in South East London
Locations: Selhurst SE25
Hours: 3:15pm-6pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £11 to £12 an hour

We are seeking an Early Years Assistant / Playworker for a After School Club in Selhurst SE25
As a play worker you will work closely with the manager and rest of the team supporting all day-to-day aspects of running the clubs at your school.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, creating fun and engaging activities safety with loads of energy and keen to learn! There may also be the opportunity for additional hours during half term and holidays if wanted.
You will need:

Level 3 or above relevant play/childcare qualification
-
At least 12 months experience working in an Early Years/Primary setting

Comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures

DSL is preferred for one member of staff;

The ability to build strong, nurturing relationships with parents and children

A passion for childcare and child development
-
The ability to plan and lead stimulating and educational activities, while adhering to Early Years Foundation Stage standards

Be key person for one or more children, including monitoring their progress, maintaining records, providing next steps in the children’s development and keeping parents updated

Food Hygiene certificate, Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding Children (Desirable)
Requirements:
- A Passion for Working with Children - we're looking for someone to provide inclusive, fun, and engaging provision for the children in your care, while inspiring them to explore their interests

Enthusiasm and Organisation Skills - you will be assisting with the planning and delivery of activities with structure and enthusiasm. This includes a wide range of activities, including multi-sports, indoor and outdoor games, arts & crafts, downtime and structured play
- Responsibility and Reliability - the safety and enjoyment of the children in your care will be your responsibility and all team members are required to follow specific policies and procedures, including completing Accident and Incident Forms and Health & Safety checks as needed, and the children and families also benefit from consistently reliable staff
- Communication and Engagement - all Play Workers are expected to conduct themselves professionally and communicate effectively with all team members, parents, children and schools on a daily basis. You will be a representative of the organisation's brand so it's key to always be a pleasure to be around!
You will need to have a clear enhanced DBS Check, either on the Government Update Service or alternatively we can carry out one for you.
