We have the perfect job for you. We have a rare opportunity for a Forest School Leader.

You will be running the Forest School in addition to supporting the nursery childcare team.

You can:

  • Plan, deliver, organise and run forest school sessions that promote learning in an outdoor environment and reflect the ethos of the forest school in a fun and engaging way
  • Ensure the forest school area is safe for the children and staff by compiling risk–benefit analyses and implement risk management systems
  • Make sure welfare requirements of your group are met
  • Communicate with a variety of people, including staff, parents, carers, management, learners, members of the local community.
  • Provide guidance and induction processes for helpers supporting the Forest School programme, to ensure a consistent approach
  • Make sure that equipment, tools and outdoor clothing are well maintained and appropriately stored
  • Support the nursery childcare team in the daily routines

We are looking for a reliable, creative and enthusiastic colleague who loves working with children in a nature setting. Importantly, this team member is adaptable and can tailor activity ideas to different individuals and their learning needs. A Forest School Level 2 or 3 accreditation and a full and relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 in childcare or equivalent is necessary, as is having a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and experience working with children in a childcare setting.

Working hours are between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, 7.5 hours a day on a rota basis, Mondays to Fridays.
