Early Years Practitioner & Deputy Manager
Location: Essex CM4
Salary: £10.75- £14 per hour
Working hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8 – 4pm Wednesday & Friday 8-1pm
Early Years Practitioner & Key Person
We are recruiting for a Early Years Practitioner and a Deputy Manager for a private nursery base in Essex CM4. To care for and enable children to engage in a range of play and learning opportunities.
Main duties and responsibilities:
· Provide and maintain a high quality service to children and their families working as part of a staff team to meet children’s individual needs.
· Ensure safeguarding practices are followed at all times, logging and raising concerns to Designated Safeguarding Lead
· To attend staff meetings, supervision and appraisal meetings and relevant identified training both online and face to face.
· To ensure records are properly maintained throughout the day, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident logs, child absence records, individual care plans, risk assessments
· To maintain confidentiality at all times ensuring information on children, families, staff members and individual progress meetings are kept on a need to know basis only
· To liaise closely with parents/carers, informing them about the nursery and it’s curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parental involvement.
· To work within the EYFS Statutory Framework and Ofsted Early Years Inspection Framework and promote high standards of care for the children.
· Encourage and promote healthy eating and healthy life habits during snack/meal times and throughout the day
· Ensure developmental needs are met, accurately recorded and learning journeys are kept up to date.
· Ensure good communication between colleagues and parent’s/carers.
· To ensure dietary requirements are known, followed and meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
General:
· To know and follow policies and procedures at all times and support staff to adhere to them.
· To maintain positive working relationships with relevant internal and external professionals, liaising with them as and when required to support individual child’s needs
· To support and develop an environment which supports an inclusive approach
· To represent the setting professionally at all times, maintaining the setting’s integrity and being open to both giving and receiving professional feedback.
