About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Out of School Club Assistant to join our team at Longstanton Pre-schoolin Longstanton. Rated GOOD by Ofsted and 9.9 on Day Nurseries.

We are a happy and friendly pre-school that has been steadily growing over the last few years.  We have a beautiful building and grounds with wonderful links with Hatton Park Primary School.

The pre-school has one large purpose-built learning environment with a large entrance hall and office.  It has it’s owns garden area and daily access to the large school playground and wooded area.  Our children are at the heart of everything we do, and our aim is for every child to be happy, full of curiosity, good humour and ready to start their school life as lifelong learners.  We encourage the principles of the curiosity approach, forest school and play.

We offer a free parking space within the school for the Early Years Manager. Longstanton is a village in South Cambridgeshire, England, 6 miles north-west of Cambridge city centre.  Longstanton is close to the guided bus with frequent daily services from Longstanton to Cambridge and St Ives along the busway.  There is also bus service links Longstanton and surrounding villages with Cambridge.

Job purpose:
As the Out of School Club Assistant, you will:

  • To contribute to the planning of safe and stimulating childcare including collection of children from school and the safe delivery of children to parents/named carers.
  • Be fully involved (where applicable) in all activities associated with the childcare provision and to support children’s participation.
  • To work in partnership with the school and support children’s allocated homework.
  • Ensure children input into, understand and adhere to the clubs’ rules for behaviour.
  • To plan and supervise the provision of healthy food and refreshments.

Requirements:
Successful applicants for the Out of School Club Assistant position will need:

  • To contribute to the planning of safe and stimulating childcare including collection of children from school and the safe delivery of children to parents/named carers.
  • Be fully involved (where applicable) in all activities associated with the childcare provision and to support children’s participation.
  • To work in partnership with the school and support children’s allocated homework.
  • Ensure children input into, understand and adhere to the clubs rules for behaviour.
  • To plan and supervise the provision of healthy food and refreshments
  • Previous experience working with children between the ages of 4 to 11. 

Also, you will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check if your current certificate is not subscribed to the update service.
