We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated child care practitioner to join a home from home setting and a loyal staff team. At Saplings we have children at the forefront of our minds at all times, and promote the importance of enjoying our working life in a warm and friendly environment.
You would be joining a family run setting in its 25th year. We are located in semi-rural, north-west Essex, close to Stansted Airport and the villages of Mole Hill and Bambers Green, Takeley. We pride ourselves on being fair and supportive to everyone who joins us. We do our best to look after our staff and seek to support individual needs as they arise.
As an Early Years Practitioner you will be part of the nursery team, play a significant role in meeting the daily care and educational needs of young children. You will also be part of securing positive and secure relationships with the children and their parents.
Previous experience of working and caring for children from 0-5 years is required, even if this is not in a formal setting. We will require that anyone without a formal qualification, accepts a training offer based on either level 2 or level 3 in Early Years. We have a training provider that supports us meet this offer to all staff we employ.
You will be expected to demonstrate a genuine desire to support and nurture children to be the best they can be, encouraging high aspirations for every child in your care.
You will need to be warm and compassionate when supporting children with their emotional needs and care routines.
We promote independence, developing confidence, resilience and a 'willing to have a go' attitude. We encourage multiple educational approaches when supporting young children. In this way we are able to meet the preferences of individual personalities.
We build close relationships with parents and carers and communicate with them daily.

Saplings is a private nursery, in semi-rural Essex. We have two lovely houses, Waltham Hall Cottage for under threes and Chapter House for preschool. Our gardens are extensive and natural, with trees, shrubs and planters. We grow vegetables, enjoy fruit from the fruit trees. We keep chickens, guinea pigs and giant african snails for the children to enjoy.
We also provide out of school provision at two schools in the local area. Stortford KidsOut has been operating since 2003, we are popular in the area and our clubs are well attended and in demand.
