We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated team member with a passion for childcare to join our team and take on the role of Nursery Practitioner

Butterfly Day Nursery is a small, non-chain nursery, we have been around for over 30 years, there is ample free parking, good public transport links. We are about 5 minutes away from the Grafton Centre, so pretty central.

We offer very pleasant working conditions including free training, continuous professional development, free lunch whilst on duty and uniform. We are a very friendly team.

What you’ll do

  • Be the key person for a group of children, observing, planning and assessing their development
  • Provide high quality childcare to children through the nursery
  • Create enriched learning opportunities for children in line with EYFS
  • Positively promote the welfare and positive behaviour of the children in our care
  • Share and support the strong ethos of our Nursery and foster positive relations with parents/carers
  • Keep children’s’ development records and produce Education and Care Plans when required


About you

  • A genuine desire to make a significant contribution from day one
  • Adaptable to meet the variable needs of the children and the Nursery.
  • Self-motivated to learn and develop
  • Friendly, flexible, reliable and committed
  • Supportive Team player and effective communicator (both verbally and in writing)
  • Qualified to Level 2 in childcare or equivalent essential and willing to work towards Level 3 desirable
