Plumstead SE18

Salary: £22,000 – £24,000

Contract: Permanent, Full time, 35 hours a week

We are looking for a dedicated, hard working and enthusiastic room leader to join the team at this lovely South East London nursery. A great team player, somebody that can motivate their staff and ensure high standards of care and learning opportunities.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a full and relevant childcare qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Minimum  2 years experience in an Early years setting.
  • A first aider.
  • To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the EYFS.
  • The ability to work alongside the EYFS in order to give children a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for a healthy future progress through school and life.
  • To be able to implement safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • To always maintain OFSTED requirements and be able to support management team.
  • To ensure that the environment meets all health and safety requirements.
  • To promote positive relationships
  • To provide support for the children’s emotional and social needs by implementing the principles for promoting positive behaviour and role modelling high standards in all aspects of their role and personal conduct.
  • Able to use own initiative.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals such as speech therapists, social workers SENCO etc to support children’s next steps and learning.
  • To always be professional
  • To maintain a positive attitude
  • To continually strive for best practice.
  • To respect confidentiality and only share information in regards to safeguarding.
  •  To have a child centred approach to teaching using creative methods to engage and stimulate.
  • To participate in all self-development activities including appraisals and supervisions.
  • Maintain staff ratio in accordance with statutory regulations.
  • To ensure effective communication with staff and families through participation in staff meetings, parents evenings and any further events held by the nursery.
