The Nursery Manager must have an excellent knowledge of Early Years practice and child development. Have the skill, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm required for working in the early years. You will continually inspire and motivate staff to provide outstanding teaching and learning by overseeing the operation of the nursery to the highest standards, ensuring that the best possible environment and care are provided for young children ensuring staff are deployed effectively.
To ensure the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage are adhered to.
To take on the role of Lead Safeguarding Officer, including Child Protection, with responsibility for promoting the well-being of children within the service in accordance with statutory safeguarding arrangements and requirements of policies and procedures (training on advanced safeguarding can be set up, if not already trained).

To assist in the planning and provision of age appropriate child and adult led activities within the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
To act as Key Person for allocated children, completing observations and maintaining learning journeys to record their progress and development.
To maintain relevant records and complete appropriate assessments for key children i.e. two-year-old progress checks and EYFS profile.
Ensure that child/staff ratios are always adhered to and that all daily risk assessments and checklists are completed on time and accurately, such as room opening and closing, outdoor checks and set up, bathroom and or kitchen checklists.
Help maintain up to date records for all children and parents, archiving children’s records who have left.
Ensure our high-quality setting is well resourced and that all children are provided with an environment where they value and respect different cultures, religion, diversity, language, and disability and ensure that toys and games reflect this within the setting.
We are keen to receive applications from those who are currently employed as a manager or Deputy or those with strong experience in Childcare who are looking for the next step up.
