Early Years Practitioners and Room Leader

Successful candidates will be required to:

• have a big smile that makes every child feel special,
• rapidly count many fast-moving little heads accurately,
• be able to repeat yourself and explain why several times over,
• read story books, upside down, in many different voices, with interruptions and random questions,
• sing songs and nursery rhymes in front of an audience, ability to sing in tune not necessary,
• dance in front of an audience, like no one is watching,
• pretend to sample mud pies, nature soup, play dough creations and a variety of potions realistically, as well as drinking MANY cups of ‘tea’, not for the faint hearted,
• see a stick as not just a stick, they have the capacity to inspire a child’s imagination like no toy ever invented, you never know what it may be,
• see what some see as a ‘scribble’ as a story, a name, a word or a masterpiece,
• hold 2-way conversations, even though you may not understand the other side,
• have a love for jumping in muddy puddles, you’re never too old,
• welcome all creatures, great and small, when presented to you with much excitement,
• supply warm hugs as required,
• be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something that gets you through even the toughest of working days.
• last but by no means least, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families. There really is no other job quite like this one!
