Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Moonshot Community Centre, Angus Street, London, SE14 6LU
Salary: £27,000 - £29,000 per annum
Our Playhouse Nursery is located within the Moonshot Community Centre, New Cross. The nursery is close to local bus routes as well as New Cross and New Cross Gate stations. The nursery is very modern and has 4 rooms with each leading to separate, outdoor areas where the children can broaden their learning and engage in many different activities, all while having fun in a safe environment.
As a LEYF Deputy you will mainly be room based however there will be times when you are required to support the Nursery Manager with the back-office functions, this can include but is not limited to interviewing potential new recruits, handling parent queries and organising staff rotas. Other key elements of this role will include building key relationships with your team, the children, and their parents as well as the day to day running and decision making of the Nursery.
Full and relevant childcare qualification at level 3 or above.
Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to take the lead in vulnerable situations when required.
Senior team leadership experience working in an early year’s setting.

To distribute staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios whilst supporting other rooms.
