Hours of work: 37 ½ hours a week between 7.30am – 6pm.

Job Purpose and Main Responsibilities:
Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children, to ensure all children attending nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age, stage of development, and individual needs.
Responsibility to ensure that the nursery complies with all company policies and procedures, relevant legislation, local authority and OFSTED requirements.
Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Responsible for the effective daily management of the nursery.
Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members to ensure high levels of involvement and customer satisfaction.
Have a full understanding of the Ofsted inspection process and the standards required to ensure the nursery receives a good or outstanding Ofsted judgement.
Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
Create and maintain a culture of self evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.
Responsibility for running the setting as a viable business with expected levels of income, occupancy, budgetary control and that bad debt is minimal and managed correctly.
Ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times.
Ensure that all paperwork is completed on time, accurately, and kept up to date to ensure the smooth running of the setting.
Responsible for keeping own knowledge and skills up to date, including Company policies and procedures, Ofsted requirements and all relevant legislation.
Have Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) or
A relevant level 5 qualification and a willingness to work towards gaining EYPS.
Knowledge and understanding of planning and providing high quality childcare and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
Knowledge and understanding of the OfSTED inspection process.
Knowledge and understanding of health & safety legislation.
Knowledge and understanding of supporting children’s behaviour.
Knowledge of SEN Code of Practice.
Awareness and understanding and commitment to diversity and equality issues.
Good level of literacy and numeracy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to use IT systems

A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of working in a childcare setting and some managerial experience within a day care setting
Have experience of working and caring with babies.
Experience of recruitment, induction and supervision of staff.
Experience of working in consultation with staff in planning, developing, monitoring and evaluating curriculum and frameworks.
Experience of using effective financial, administrative, monitoring and evaluation systems.
Able to demonstrate good knowledge of business needs.
