St Ives Nursery is a private day care nursery located in the centre of St Ives, conveniently placed close to both the A14 for access to Cambridge and easy rail links for commuters into London. Our beautiful converted Victorian house and garden allow us to foster our ethos of providing our children with a ‘home from home’ environment.

We are open full-time from 7:30am – 6:00pm, caring for children from 3 months to 5 years.

Our philosophy is that every child we care for deserves a calm, caring, safe and stimulating environment in which to learn.

We adhere to the strict standards set by Ofsted working within the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum.

Kitchen Assistant  Description St Ives Nursery is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly and happy team. Role Overview A supportive role to ensure the smooth running of the Nursery kitchen To support the Nursery Chef in providing a nutritious and well-balanced diet for the children and ensuring children’s dietary needs, particularly serious allergies, are met. To cook Nursery meals and manage the weekly food ordering and stock rotation/control in the absence of the Nursery Chef To maintain high standards of hygiene. To adhere to food hygiene policies, standard operating processes and legislation. Essential Skills/Qualifications: A positive attitude A team player Effective communication skills Knowledge of basic health and safety and food safety Willingness to undertake further training as required Ability to undertake all physical aspects of the position Adept at dealing with stress   Desirable Skills/Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar role Previous experience of working in a childcare setting Knowledge of safeguarding and first aid.
