Herne Hill School was founded in 1976 as a nursery school in the charming grounds of the Old Vicarage, tucked away behind St. Paul’s Church. Building on its success and responding to parents’ requests, it expanded in 1986 to also become a pre-preparatory school.
In the late nineties, the purpose built Mulberry building was added. It was recently extended to provide modern, bright and spacious classrooms which combine with the homely, cosy feel of the Old Vicarage and the adjacent Nature Area to create an environment uniquely suited for young children and conducive to learning. The recent addition of the new Oak building with its state-of-the art Kindergarten, multi-function hall and kitchen has further enhanced these unique facilities.
Today, Herne Hill School is a thriving, buzzing school with approximately 275 boys and girls aged 2-7 years. The school is independently owned, with the Director, Mr Dominik Magyar, taking an active role in overseeing the direction of the school since 2002. He can be reached by calling the school office during both term times and holidays.
